Shavot’s Girls Leadership Program has been operating since 2018. The program runs throughout the school year, from October to June, and consists of 25 weekly sessions, each lasting 3 hours.
Each group includes ~15 participants – selected girls from 6th or 7th grade.
The program seeks to shift inherent gender paradigms by addressing the underlying causes of gender inequity. This is achieved by providing girls with practical tools and skills to help them reach their full potential and by exposing them to inspiring female role models.
Shavot’s Girls Leadership Program introduces young adolescent girls to opportunities available to them, while empowering them to discover their strengths and fulfill their potential and aspirations.
The program operates throughout Israel, with ~130 groups in ~25 municipalities, producing ~1,500 graduates each year.
Shavot’s Girls Leadership Program is implemented in schools across Israel, in collaboration with municipal education departments and in coordination with the educational staff of participating schools.
The program includes weekly group meetings and one-on-one mentoring. Throughout the year, various peak events are held, including office tours at leading Israeli companies, meetings with senior executive women, joint sessions with the girls’ parents, and a celebratory end-of-year event, where the girls present a personal project or initiative they developed during the year.
Each group is facilitated by two female undergraduate students who serve as role models, fostering personal connections and creating a supportive and empowering environment. In return for their work in the program, they receive an educational scholarship.
The program year is structured around five key themes that form Shavot’s unique leadership toolbox.

Through rounding up, every credit card purchase will be rounded up to the nearest shekel and the agorot will be donated to programs advancing girls’ equality.
For example: Did you buy something for 9.90 NIS? You paid 10 and donated only 10 agorot. The average monthly donation is only 5 shekels!
